Tamara Clarke
L.Ac., Dipl. OM
I believe in hope and quality of life. Even in chronic illness, there is a way to find wellness. While there are many ways to achieve health, I offer it through Chinese Medicine.
I graduated from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland, Oregon in 2004 with a master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I am nationally and state certified as a Licensed Acupuncturist and Diplomate of Oriental Medicine. The Diplomate certification encompasses acupuncture, Chinese herbal therapy, massage, and qigong. My specialty is 5-Element Acupuncture, which further deepens my approach in this powerful medicine.
Poor health and pain can be frustrating and demoralizing.
Seeing the positive changes in people’s health gives me great joy. Whether the results are permanent or temporary, the look of relief on a client’s face is always heartwarming.
For a client with a difficult case to have positive relief after I treat them offers them a great sense of hope, especially when the list of options through more traditional means is minimal. Since the goal of Chinese Medicine is to get to the root of dis-ease, long-term relief is not uncommon.
My introduction to Chinese Medicine started in college while taking a medical anthropology class. My love for this medicine was born and will forever be a part of me. After college, I moved to Utah and was a wilderness instructor in a therapeutic wilderness program for at-risk youth. The job was a life-changing experience and those teenagers taught me that we work much better as a team. This theme translates easily in approaching health care. I enjoy working with other health care professionals to provide you the best support possible.
My goal is to provide an avenue of health that treats dis-ease in a safe and effective way with minimal side effects. After all, life is more enjoyable when we are well and feel good.
